I didn't get through the entire thread, and not sure if the OP is still reading. However, I've played the main Sadowsky models in the showroom in Queens and they're very nice instruments. The acoustic sound is not good, though. They're meant to be plugged in. I preferred the LS-17 and the SS-15. The LS-17 is quite heavy to carry around. But it sounds great plugged in. The SS-15 is easier to carry, comfy smaller size. Also nice sound, but the 17" is a bigger sound, of course. The workmanship is excellent.

I played a Benedetto Bravo deluxe (or elite, is it?) the other day. It was OK. I didn't think the acoustic sound was that special. Plugged in it was pretty nice (it is a laminate), but not amazing. The feel was very good. I think in the Benedettos, things probably start to get really amazing in the $6,500 + range, but I don't know.

I've played some Eastmans with solid carved top that have excellent acoustic and plugged in sound. Not like Wes Montgomery, of course; plugged in they still sound kind of acoustic. There is quite some variation so you have to find one you like. All the dealers I've talked to about these think the workmanship is very good. It isn't at the level of Sadowsky or Benedetto, but it's very good value for the sound. They do take a bit of a hit at resale, though, if you're concerned about that.

Default The LS-17 decision.

Alright, I am back..... I took some time off on this decision as I am trying to build my own guitar.. However, a a couple of months ago I visited the Sadowsky showroom in Queens and played em' all. Archtops that is. And I have come to the decision that an LS-17 is above and beyond the others I've played in that price range. Eastman or otherwise. So, I will be purchasing the LS-17. It had a great sound to it. But of course the workmanship is the thing with a Sadowsky. It felt perfect. Right off the wall. Comfortable. Pure tone. So, soon as I scrape up the cash I will buy that guitar. If you're ever in New York check it out.

Congratulations! I agree...the quality of their guitars seem pretty nice. Please post a few photos when you receive your new axe!
