Rick that is a beautiful package - the rosewood, the cross silking on the top, and the pickguard is really great - hope it plays as good as it looks!

Does it have a vintage sound or soomething a bit different?

Enjoy,
Colin

Rick - Caldwells don't come into view that often and that one's gorgeous. Have not played the 3539s. What can you tell us about the sound and overall experience of playing one....

Regards,
Rob

It plays very nicely as delivered but I suspect that some players might want it a tad lower at the nut. A very minor set-up detail, in my book.

It has a very clear & even voice from one end to the other, making it very easy to control tonal nuance.

This is the 1st of that series I've had here and I'm very impressed. The fit and finish are 1st rate. To my ear, the sound is what Jimmy has set out to obtain.

I've kept track of several other Caldwells that I've had the chance to audition and can say that each has gotten better sounding with age.

Lovely guitar. That Amazon RW is fantastic, and for tops I think Lutz can be the best looking of spruces, and this one certainly is.

There's not too much on Caldwell's website. Is there a source for more info on him and his guitars?
