Default New Helweg Pedalboard completed!

This is the new Helweg Open Wing series pedalboard. Michael just completed and shipped. Should be here day before thanksgiving.

Phenomenal craftsmanship and attention to detail!

I am so stoked to get this thing in my hands!

How do you attach pedals to board? Looks like there is some kind of screw and metal tab system.

Very sleek....much better design than my big Furman SPB-8C clunker.

These are Michael's promo shots for his website. I can post a direct shot when it arrives on Wednesday. Front row is direct screw through the tabs. Second row is mounted on 2" metal risers. The very cool thing about this board is the low profile and access. Everything is flat, but the second row is slightly elevated, but still flat.

I designed this board to be multi-purpose. Half is electric, half is acoustic. I can have four guitars plugged in at the same time.

Here's the block diagram I gave to Michael.

Just to be clear, did he attach your pedals to the board?

They are screwed down. Front row to the board. Back row screwed to 2"risers that are screwed to the board. Everything hard mounted.

Sorry, I was wondering whether he put the whole thing together or you did? Always baffling trying to figure out how to properly order the signal chain with lots of pedals.

I provided the bock diagram to Michael. I also provided a mockup of the physical layout and a list of preferences; like which pedals I will access the most. There was a little give and take due to physical limitations (i.e. I wanted no larger than a 24" board and we compromised at 26"). I think there were probably 12 or so iterations before we settled on the final product. He did all the mounting, wiring, connections.

Michael knows his stuff when it comes to the really important stuff like power, grounding, noise issues, and from what I can tell with these pictures, has great attention to detail.

Input cables are high end Analysis Plus Silver Thinline cable, the rest are Lava. All soldered connections.

3 more days to wait...

This is a 7 year old thread. But looking at the complexity of the darn thing, I think that I'd still be reading the instruction manual.
