Default Do you work outside home? Do you have an office guitar?

And does your boss allow you to play a little to unwind?

Do you keep it cased and humidified inside case at your office? Or is it just out and on a stand over next to the stool?

I notice a lot of movies where office settings have a guitar in view. But that is Hollywood.

Great question! I do work in an office and have thought about bringing my GS Mini in. Like most offices, mine is subject to temperature changes over the weekends. I'd think the GS Mini would hold up ok to those swings? Not crazy hot or cold. Not sure about humidity..

I am fortunate enough to have an acoustic guitar Reminiscence Group I do with my geriatric long-term care psychiatric patients every Wednesday afternoon. I keep my Yamaha FS700s in the office. I get by with playing a little during the rest of the week and call it practicing for my group.

I keep my '71 Guild D-25 in the office at all times, uncased, leaning up against a bookcase.

It is within arms reach whenever I need a break. I don't worry about it too much. Evidently, neither does my boss!

I have a guitar that I sometimes bring into the office. I have a door that I can shut at lunch and on breaks and there is a nice area outside to play. I generally do not leave the guitar in the office overnight mostly due to our ridiculously fickle heating and cooling system. It is horrible on people and plants so I do not want to subject even my beater to it!

Best,
Jayne

Having retired from working in the prison system, I always find it amusing that those of you who have "real" jobs can bring a guitar to work. We, on the other hand, weren't even allowed to bring lunch....

No guitar at the office. Wouldn't work for my situation.

But even better, I live a mile away and often get home for lunch. I usually get to play for 20 minutes or so, which is something I feel very lucky to be able to do. If I wasn't so into eating and reading the paper it could be a lot longer!

Even if I'm busy in the evening, I still get to pick up the guitar nearly every day, even if for just a little while.

Yeah, my boss wouldn't love the idea of me jamming when I should be working! For me, it would be to have handy if I'm there very early or stay late. which is not uncommon. I'm salaried, so it's not costing the company if I'm at my desk extra hours.

Yes and no.
Yes, I do work outside the home, but no, no office guitar,
mainly because I have no office! After 30 years of working,
I am still to this day stuck in a small cubicle.

Yes, I keep an RK 000 at the office. It's cased and doesn't come out too often. But it's there when I want it.

Yup.

I have a Tanglewood Roadster travel guitar I keep in my cubicle.
I've only got $100 in it.

There's a cabinet with a door usually used to hang your jacket - it lives in there.
HVAC is pretty consistent.

I get it out at lunchtime and go upstairs to one of the unused conference rooms. It's a nice break.

I take my nicest guitars to work everyday, and tend to play them in the early hours before anyone gets there so I have a chance to practice each day

You keep money in your guitar? Does it affect the tone?
