The neck is a little deeper than the modern Gibson carve. It certainly isn't a club or baseball bat, but it is not the more modern slim carve. Personally, I think that it is very comfortable.

It has a very comfortable medium size C shaped neck. it is a little deeper than the standard Gibson carve, but it isn't overly large like some older Gibson necks can be.

Kerry Char has repaired and restored a number of guitars for me and while I haven't owned one of his guitars (yet), I've played his instruments and they are phenomenal. Kerry is not a self-promoter, but a master luthier. You don't often see his instruments on the market and I think that's telling. I'm thinking about this J-45...

I was fortunate enough to play and see this incredible guitar. It is absolutely wonderful. One of the best I've ever seen. Great vintage vibe to it. I think the restoration on this had to be upwards of 3k. Awesome.
