Default It's not my Fault

I have no need for a new guitar. I have slowly been selling off old equipment that I use less and less. But yesterday I was at Guitar Center getting some strings and saw a flamed maple(prob veneer)over ash "Strat" on the wall. It was actually a G&L Tribute Legacy. It had been marked down to $250.

OK...so I picked it up and started noodling. Nice feel...12 radius neck vs 9.5 for real Strat but it felt good. Neck fills the hand nicely without being too big or Skinny. Plugged into a fender Super sonic. Sounds like a Strat..maybe a little glassier but if you take tone knob down a touch, it sounds like an old strat.

So feels great, sounds great, looks great. For $250, why not? So I did.

I do not have a pic but here is an almost identical match on Reverb.

I see no fault at all... $250, beautiful guitar... I'd say it's a great find! You had to do it.

Congrats...

Beautiful guitar and a great price. Surely is not your fault!

Nice find. I have three G&L Tributes - not just good for the $ - just plain good!

Congrats

I tried to just write: Score! But apparently you need at least 10 characters to reply. So - score!

Some things are just beyond our control. I love G&L and that's a nice one at a great price.

The way I see it, you really didn't have a choice.

I just did another session with my G&L. Great guitar with a lovely sound and a smooth trem.

Nice. The only guitar I regret selling was my G&L S-500. Enjoy.

I've got a G&L ASAT (Tele) Tribute and love it.

Can't beat the price! I don't think it's veneer, due to the curved shape of the Strat body. The reverb description says it's ash (just looks like flamed maple).

There was a Legacy Tribute offered at Guitar Center that featured a maple veneer top over a mahogany body and was offered in the three-color 'burst. You can read up on it, HERE.

G&L's ash typically looks more like my USA S-500 with swamp ash body:

Don't believe everything you read on reverb . Here is company description-

I figured it was a flame maple veneer but did not even bother with the wood on the back. Would have bet it was alder. Who knew mahogany?
