The rumors say we might have the biggest update to Apple Watch in a while but I'll probably be content with my Series 2 and more interested in a phone upgrade.

Progress with cellular radio in the watches might influence me but for the most part my Swiss watches sit and I'm still loving the Apple Watch basics and one particular sports app that requires your phone.

Cell phone. Haven’t worn a watch in years.

Police work tends to be destructive to watches anyway; I don’t know how many I’ve buggered up working accidents or wrestling with suspects.

Default Let's Talk Watches...What do you wear???

I wear Casio G-Shock watches while I'm working, but have a major weak-spot for Citizen Eco-drives! My latest is the new Blue Angels Promaster Skyhawk A-T and the Brycen with the blue face and brown leather band.

I've got a Submariner in the drawer but don't wear it often. I also have an antique Bulova and my father's dress watch (I forget which brand). As part of my job I've photographed some super expensive watches, but that's not my bag.

For every day I just bang around in a Wenger Chrono. When I want to get a little dressier I'll choose the fossile. A little more formal the Phillip Stein (Tesla).
The Wenger is the easiest to read and I'd be just as happy with a plain ol Timex. I used to own a couple Expeditions years ago, but moved away from digital displays.

I have that same one in a black face. I replaced the cloth strap with a black rubber strap. My current wear is a Seiko "Blumo" dive watch on a Crafter Blue black rubber strap, bought in 2016. I am a pool builder by profession and my hands spend a lot of time submerged in water and chemicals. I have beat the crap out this watch and it still functions just a good as the first day I got it. The rubber strap still looks brand new even if the watch doesn't.

i've owned horrifying numbers of watches, many in the $6-8,000 range, because I'm... prone to getting excited about things. They're all sold except this austere German watch that I wear when I want to class up over my $40 indiglo timex sports watch.

and a refractive trick underwater.

Btw I sold the rest to buy this. Equally silly but so pretty.

I saw this rumor/leak today as well as some news that confirmed my wondering if the Series 1 is where a lot of the sales are.

https://9to5mac.com/2018/08/30/exclu...atch-series-4/

At the moment I can't imagine moving from my Series 2, and my Swiss watches will remain neat stuff to look at but no longer really use. Those words could be eaten like my earlier opinion of size large phones if they take a big leap in one's independence from the phone.

Before I get criticism for phone addiction, keep in mind that I'm an enterprise IT manager, and the Apple Watch has been a great tool for health, healthy lifestyle, and my outdoor sports.

When I wear a watch these days (rare) it is my $89 Casio dive watch from about 25 years ago. It gains about 1½ minutes a month, which I don't care for, but the darn thing just won't die, and it has been kayaking, swimming, flying in my Cessna up to 14,000 feet, and scuba diving down to 125 feet. It has lived in a drawer for the last couple of years waiting for a new battery....... My cell phone is my time piece now in most circumstances.

Is that a mechanical watch?
