Default Guitar shops in Orlando

In town visiting for a few days. Any quality shops around? Not really looking for the basic box store types. Thanks.

Default Orlando Shops

I asked about the Orlando area a couple of years ago and was underwhelmed with what was there.

Maybe there are shops worth looking at now.

Not a lot that I know about. I found this on the internet:
http://www.blackbirdvintagemusic.com/

and this place in tampa which is about a 90 minute drive from tampa:
https://www.replayguitar.com/

MyFavoriteGuitars is north of Orlando and is about an hour drive. They don't have a lot of things on display and I don't think they really encourage walk ins too much. Most of their sales are online.

Actually Jon (at My Favorite Guitars) has a lot of stock and would probably be happy to let you play most anything he has. But to be on the safe side I'd call him first. And you won't find a better guy to deal with...top shelf!

I’ve worked trade shows in Orlando in the past. I found a small guitar store within walking distance from the Peabody Hotel. It was some years ago, but the staff was friendly and let me play to my heart’s content. If you are anywhere near the Convention Center it was within 1/2 mile or so.

BTW-I always buy at least a couple of sets of strings when I play while traveling. They knew I wasn’t buying a guitar, so I bought something to compensate them for letting me play their guitars...seems fair.

I live in Orlando, so +1 on making the drive to Jon's. Be prepared, however, for a less than acoustically ideal place to audition them. To keep his prices low, I suppose, Jon's small showroom offers no audition rooms, although I was welcome to step back to the warehouse area where he records his demos.

It's a beautiful drive and not a bad way to spend the day (if you don't mind wearing an apron while you try 'em out.)

You can always bring your own apron. If you go, be sure to contact Jon first to make sure he will be around. And watch out for golf carts!
