IPhone App - Learning the Fretboard
Yesterday, I purchased and installed an app named Guitar Fretboard Addict.
I like it and thought I would let you all know about it. It's a game that tests you on the fretboard based upon the fret, note, key or string. For those that want to learn the fretboard better, I would recommend it. Also, I installed a couple of different tuners but, I haven't had a chance to try them and compare them to my Intelli IMT-900.

That's fine if you use E standard all the time, but imagine memorizing all the notes for all the tunings that folks use. I use about 10.
That's why I don't play with other people, I don't even know what a key is. Pretty frickn sad. But this app does sound cool. Come on Verizon. |

The best iPhone app for tuning is the Peterson iStoboSoft. Peterson's Strobe tuners are some of the best.

And the iPhone/iPod version has features not included on some of the other Peterson Tuners. I use it on my iPad and it's great - as long as the room is quiet. |

Can't wait to get an iPhone on Verizon, I'm guessing.

I really like the ClearTune tuner on the iPhone.
I also played around with Fret Surfer for learning the fretboard but found it didn't translate well to the actual fretboard for me. Playing scales forward and backward, up and down the fretboard has worked better. Your mileage may vary.

My guess it is the ap. will do little to actually help you learn the fretboard.
Best way to learn it is to learn on it.

Jeff M you are correct, there's nothing like actually playing and learning on your axe. Unfortunately, my job requires me to carry a phone so, I always have it. Can't carry the guitar everywhere.

Good start to a song. Could go:
What does Verizon have to do with it? Who needs a phone when a phone can be broken?
