Very effortless and beautiful for sure. I like it!

But I'll always be partial to my first exposure to this piece (an old VHS video of Christopher Parkening). I studied in a program run by Parkening in the '80s. I find his performance of this piece passionate and "moody". I just dig it. I should pull-out my sheet music and relearn this one.

Here's a passionate one. Skip ahead to 6:30 to bypass the life story/religion stuff (if you're not into that). It's not an "effortless" performance like Lijie's... but it moves me. It's brashness is more reminiscent of a flamenco performance. I like that.

Thanks for these versions. Am enjoying trying my hand at this piece, so will have a listen. Really enjoying playing it.

I saw John Williams play Koyunbaba when he visited Toronto in the late 90's. That was quite an experience (as was the rest of the performance!).

Parkening's performance was enjoyable too, and here's the composer himself playing his own piece:

Though clearly some years ago.

pretty easy piece for the most part, the hard part last about 3 seconds
