Default How often do Nylon strings break

Compared to steel strings.

On my guitars, the nylons tend to break in the case or on the stand, unrelated to my playing. It's almost always one of the wound bass strings that pop.

Steel strings, it's the trebles that break, usually while string bending.

Which break more will probably have to do with how you play. If you use light strings and do a lot of string bending, you'll pop more treble steel strings. But if you don't play particularly hard, you'll find that nylons are more likely to just passively break for no apparent reason.

EDIT: I don't usually use a pick or string bend on nylon. Either one could lead to more string breaking, I guess...

The one and only time that I've ever had a string break on my nylon string guitars break was because of a small burr in the nut slot.

Sometimes I am really bad about changing my strings. Honestly, I just hate doing it. Sometimes I go until the 4th string finally pops right around the 2nd fret...lol
