Default NUD - banjolele version

I randomly came across one of these Deering ukes a month ago and haven't been able to get it out of my head. Classic Deering Goodtime build, loud but sweet tone, and truly unique instrument. The larger pot makes it very comfortable to play, and I sat in my car by the puget sound for 20 minutes at lunch playing very comfortably in the front seat.

Very happy right now, as traditional ukes don't quite have enough "bite" for my style. All the other Banjoleles I have played have sounded tiny, but this one truly has some complexity to the tone. Maybe one day I can pick up a National Resophonic uke, but until then this one should meet my needs. I hope to play anything and everything on it but hopefully apply my clawhammer techniques. It excels at fingerpicking, but handles a strum very well too. I think it should be pretty versatile. More to come as I get to know this new Uke.

That looks like great fun! Can you give us the specs, like scale length, nut width, string spacing?

Concert scale. This is from the elderly site:

Natural maple neck and 11" rim, 17-fret fingerboard extends over head, Deering Goodtime logo on peghead, walnut bowtie inlays in fingerboard, guitar-style tuning gears, Aquila Super Nylgut strings, Deering patented bridge with bridge plate. Nut width is 1-3/8", string spacing at bridge is 1-11/16" and overall length is 24"
