(Sounds Like New Uke)
Replaced the tuners with new Grovers and changed the strings on my 3-year-old Luna a/e, it's like a new instrument!  Biggest problem I have with nylon strings is not knowing when they need to be changed.

None had broken and it still stayed in tune, so I guess I could have kept the old strings on!

I bought a Luna Maluhia for my wife in 2014 and she loves it, but tuning was a pain in the butt due to lost motion in the tuners. A set of Grover Sta-tites from Stewmac solved the problem quickly and easily. The mounting holes even matched up.
As for string replacement, I think Merlin has the right idea.

One of the OEM tuners on my Luna started vibrating on open string notes (but it wasn't loose), and then one lost the turning knob screw, so for the inexpensive Stewmac Grover option, it was an easy decision, matched right up, I didn't change out the bushings, though, as the Grovers were thicker-walled and would have required reaming out the holes.
