2015 Pat Foster 0000
Indian rosewood / Adirondack
$2995

I'm glad a consignment customer introduced me to Pat's guitars. These fly under the radar, as Pat is still an up-and-coming luthier. But they represent a great value for the money, as they will compete with anything in the mid-level boutique world. I love the Adirondack with the varnish finish. As with the other 0000 in the shop, it has plenty of power while still staying focused and balanced. Comes with original hardshell case.

2010 Ken Franklin Concert
Indian rosewood / Carpathian spruce
$2995

I've been wanting to try a Ken Franklin for a long time, and I finally got my chance! Boy oh boy, I didn't know what I was missing. Ken's guitars are really something special. It has that dynamic, snappy response that instantly puts a grin on your face, and soon you'll never want to leave your guitar room. Beautiful and unique aesthetic, too - Ken is a master. Comes with Ameritage case.

2010 Ken Franklin Concert
Indian rosewood / Cedar
$2995

I'm very fortunate that a consignment customer sent me these two Ken Franklin guitars - I've been wanting to try one of Ken's instruments for a long time now. I didn't know what I was missing! This cedar model has a bit more color and complexity, and it has that softer "snap" that you only get with cedar tops. I love his aesthetic - it's very unique. Comes with Ameritage case.

2016 Bashkin Belleza
Koa / Sitka spruce
$4895

Michael's guitars are perhaps my favorite modern build, and I'm always grinning ear to ear when I pull one of his creations out of the case. This is a delightful example in koa and Sitka, with a 12-fret grand concert body that keeps it focused and balanced. It's one of those rare guitars where the notes seem to instantly bloom into the whole room, with no delay. I had to keep backing away from my microphone since it was being overwhelmed by the response! Current replacement cost is $8250. Comes with nice SKB case.

2010 Franklin OM-28
EIR / European spruce
$5995

This is my first Franklin in the shop, and I sincerely hope there will be more. This guitar has "it" - that elusive magic that we're looking for when we talk about pre-war voiced replica guitars. It's that snappy sparkle in the reverb and the dry presence associated with it. Wonderful snap in the tactile response, too. And just look at that top - the Euro spruce with the Herringbone trim. It's sublime in person, and the photos don't really do it justice. These Franklins by Nick Kukich are difficult to come by, so grab it while you have the chance! Comes with original hardshell case.

2016 Lowden S35m
Fiddleback Honduran mahogany
$4500

The amount of sound that this S body Lowden puts out will shock you. It's the most precise guitar I've played in a long time - every note is extremely defined and well-shaped. Plays like a dream too. And just look at that fiddleback Honduran mahogany. The pictures just don't do it justice. Comes with original Hiscox case.

2016 Huss & Dalton T-0014 Custom
Sinker mahogany / Sinker redwood
$3995

So let's address the elephant in the room - just look at the sinker redwood top on this guitar. The mineral streaking is out of this world. It's just drool-enducing. Lots of tonal character from this one - it's a mellow blues box for sure. Love the comfort of the short-scale neck. Comes with original hardshell case.

2006 Goodall TZ000C
Ziricote / Master-grade bear claw Sitka spruce
Sold

Here's one you don't see every day! When's the last time you saw a Goodall 000 12-fret with a cutaway and ziricote back/sides? Indeed, this one is a real treat. That crazy-figured ziricote pairs beautifully with the bear claw Sitka, and you get that lush Goodall tone on steroids. Ziricote is a Mexican rosewood, and it's supplying some extra depth and layering to James's usual sound. You get a bit of extra room for fingerstyle playing with the wider nut and string spacing. Comes with original hardshell case.

2009 Merrill Woodbridge
Walnut / Redwood
$3995

I'm pretty confident you'll never see another example of this guitar. Jim made this one as a departure from his normal pre-war replica style guitar - think of it as his take on a Kevin Ryan model. It has a 15 3/4" lower bout, so its voice is powerful and rich. I love walnut and redwood, and it's a pretty special combination on a single-luthier guitar like this one. You get far more complexity, color, and overtones than a typical Merrill, and you'll find more character for fingerstyle passages. Again - much like a Ryan. It just got a setup from my tech and is playing ultra smooth. Comes with original hardshell case.

2000 Taylor 814bce
Brazilian / Engelmann
$3495

Here we have a fantastic 814ce variant from Taylor. This is from their Legends of the Fall limited run in 2000, and it features Brazilian rosewood and a nice creamy set of Engelmann spruce. You get the typical versatile balance from their 814ce, but with the added resonance and bell-like quality from the Brazilian. Plays fantastic - smooth and buttery like most Taylors. Comes with original hardshell case.

2014 Collings OM2H VN
EIR / Sitka
$2995

I always love having OM's from Collings in the shop, and here's a great example. It's snappy and focused, with a tighter tone that made Bill's guitars famous. This one has a perfect setup for fingerstyle - it's low and smooth, with a wider 2 and 5/16" string spacing from the Vintage Now neck. Comes with original hardshell case.

2015 Taylor K26ce
All koa
$3095

Sorry about the camera drift in the video!

Here's a beautiful one from Taylor. The GS body combined with koa gives a shimmery, colorful sound with lots of punch and low end. Like most Taylors, it plays super smooth and buttery. Comes with original hardshell case.

2006 Goodall MhCJMh
All mahogany
$3995

Here's one of the best Goodalls I've ever played - full stop. It has just the right balance of complex Goodall 3D lushness against a dry sparkle that I can only attribute to the all mahogany body. Lots of power, but it's still balanced bottom to top. Plays absolutely fantastic. You don't see too many of these all-mahogany Goodalls, so if you're looking for the Goodall sound but want something different than EIR/spruce, this is your guitar! Comes with original hardshell case.

2010 Goodall PES
Palo Escrito / AAA Port Orford cedar
$4250

I don't have many of James's Standards pass through the shop, and I think that's because folks tend to hold onto them. This guitar is enormously powerful, with an even, balanced tone provided by the palo escrito and AAA Port Orford cedar top. I'd say it's just a touch more colorful than your average Goodall because of the softer cedar top, but it will still bark at you. Plays fantastic. Comes with original hardshell case.
