Default Bypass Barn Door?

Hello, all...I have a Taylor 314ce that i really like the neck...sounds good as well..it's a 2001...has the barn door electronics...when plugged in, the high e string sometimes doesnt come through as amplified as the other strings, and gets lost on single note runs, especially up the neck. I also have a Martin 000 18 that has the anthem pickup system...and this does not occur with that guitar...

anybody here ever upgraded or bypassed the barn door system for a new one?

results?

thx

Speculation, yet quite possible:

1) Your Taylor's "barn door electronics" includes a UST.

2) The bridge's saddle slot, the UST and the saddle are not aligned/optimized properly resulting in lower output for the first string.
