Just gonna throw this out there, some of the finest guitar players today, got their start on the Banjo! Clive Carroll, to name one.

They're not guitar players. They are banjo players "in recovery"

Make fun all you want, but Midwest Banjo Camp is very highly regarded and extremely well attended.

Paddle faster, I hear banjos.

My pop bought a Sovereign 5-string as a high school present for me in 73. What a guy, eh? I learned to play it to show my appreciation and then
into the chipboard case it went for the next 40 years. I gave it away at some point.
