Default newbies step-by-step guide to posting pics

It's frustrating for some people to post a picture so here's a very easy tutorial.

Forums like this one have enough things to do without having to worry about paying for extra storage space and bandwidth to host pictures so in order for a post to show a picture you have to go to a web site that does picture "hosting".

There are many sites on the internet that host pictures but to keep this simple I am using http://www.tinypic.com to host the pics posted here. Tinypic does not require any type of registration nor do they ask for an email so I recommend them highly for posting of photos.

OK lets get started. Go to www.tinypic.com and you will see this screen below.
Click on "Browse" and look through your computer for the picture.
Click on the down arrow for "Resize" and change it to 640x480.
Click on "Upload now!".

--

As you see on this screen there are several options but we only care about the option circled.
Click your mouse onto the area circled "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" and highlight all of it and then right mouse click (or control+c) to "copy" the contents.

--

Now simply go back to the forum and paste this code into your post (or control+v to paste).
Once you see it paste click on "Preview Post" to make sure the code pasted over correctly.

--

You should now see a picture.

--

Now simply finish up your post and click on "Submit New Thread"

--

Enjoy!

Yes.

You're basically just in need of the image code.

Correct. Any site that will host the pic and give you the IMG code will work. You can also manually add in the IMG code before and after any url to make an image show up. Just look at the picture here and you can see how it's done if ever need to just type it in yourself
