Default prototype Enya Nova Go Sonic smart electric guitar

Hi all

Was searching for more info on Enya composite guitars and found this Chinese language page about the ?? prototype Enya Go Sonic. Use the browser translation feature to read the page in English. Use the menu to read about other guitars. The pages appear to be a website writer’s rough draft that might vanish any time (Ex: purchasing pages don’t work and listed prices are absurdly low).

Enya Go Sonic smart electric guitar appears to a larger version of the Enya Nova Go with a hollow body molded from carbon filled polycarbonate, Les Paul style layout with two pickups, built in 10 watt speaker, and S1 DSP to manage the controls, effects, modelling, and programming via Bluetooth to smartphone.

Wonder if the Sonic will be a modern version of the rare and discontinued Composite Acoustics Blade carbon fibre electric guitar? Other Enya composite guitars indicate it might be very affordable.

Cheers.

If you google it you will get more hits than that, although it's mostly videos in Vietnamese at this time.

However, this guitar is fully electric and its tone is rather thin in those demos. I prefer hearing my electric guitars through my 4x12 cab.

And as for portability, many years ago I already found a solution for busking on electric guitar without any power outlets nearby: The Pignose Hog 20 battery amp.

Thanks for pointing out other sources.

Enya Go Sonic appears to be a few weeks new in Asia (dealers in China, Thailand, Vietnam, India, etc). I’ll wait for availability and support here. Price appears to be approx $350 USD.

I’m interested in the sound quality of the pickups and signal processing. Specifically how it will do the job of the pedals I use with the Tele for folk rock and country rock.

My guess is that the Sonic needs to be played through external amplifiers for performance, and the 10 watt internal speaker is for practicing. At 3kg it’s almost the weight of my Tele thinline.

Enya lists details on their Amazon USA and Canada stores but not currently available:

it's also not TRULY carbon fiber any more than any of the other Enya guitars.
It's injection-molded polycarbonate (or something like that) rather than carbon fiber sheets embedded in epoxy.
So it's strong, but not as strong as the full-on carbon fiber of the Composite Acoustics Blade.
Nor does it have the stainless steel frets.
I'm sure the pickups won't be Seymour Duncan or equivalent quality, either.

That doesn't mean it's junk or a toy.

But it does conform to the old rule that you get what you pay for.

Yup … I’ve decided to play what what I’ve already paid for.

Brought out the TeleCaster and it sounds wonderful.
