Default Any ideas for covering barn door electronics in the rain?

I love how impervious to the elements my CF guitars are, but I do worry about the electronics even in a light drizzle. Any ideas for a rain cover?

If cellophane wrap would cling to the guitar, maybe apply it loosely over the electronics. You may even be able to adjust the controls with the cellophane in place if it is applied loose enough.

I tried a 18"x 12" piece of cellophane wrap over the barn door and down the front and back on my satin finish wood guitar. I does stay in place, so it clings a little.

So, the Saran Wrap doesn't cling on my 'fine textured' Shorty or my Emerald T8. I'll try the painters tape next time I can pick some up. I was able to mold a piece of aluminum foil to fit, but that's not a great solution. Something 'moldable' like that would be cool tho', and something you could keep in your gigbag til needed, small and lightweight.

I used a piece of duck tape to cover a sound port Percy it on for a month and it comes off clean.

Avoid duct tape - it has a really strong adhesive, meant to seal air leaks in ductwork for its working life. It can peel up guitar finishes, especially if it stays on for a while. Gaffer's tape looks similar, but is very low tack by comparison.

Gigging in the rain? What about the mic, the PA/speakers, amp, etc, etc. I have done outdoor gigs in my band days where the stage was under cover, but I have never had occasion to play in the rain.

Bob Womac's suggestion of the pop-up cover is good... until the wind comes up with the rain. I vote for "alternate location contingency due to weather."

As a boat captain, I sometimes have to be out in weather I'd rather not be in... not so much with guitar playing. I've talked about keeping the set list flexible to accommodate the audience, the mood, and the circumstances... "Here's another Beatles' song for you - 'When the Rain Comes'..."
