Default In The Garage with Uncle Billy!

Today my wife's Uncle Billy Davis was visiting our home from Okie City, and we spent about an hour out in the garage trading original songs. Uncle Billy is 78 years of age and man oh man can he tell a story, belt out a tune and strum like the dickins! I lent him my Gibson and I played on my biiiiig Epi. This is one of the most enjoyable hours in my musical memory.

I may post more videos as time goes by, but here's 3.

First up is an original song I wrote in the late 1970s called "Market Street Blues". My wife took the video on an LG V10 smartphone and the song is joined in progress. Uncle Billy is to my left.

Next is Uncle Billy singing a song he wrote in the early 1980s called "Hot Delta Queen". You can hear my efforts to play along. It was an easy one four five relative minor type of song. He sings it with a lot of power, especially for his age, and I wish I could have heard him do it in the 80s when he penned it!

Finally just for kicks is a song, also joined in progress, that I've shared here before called The Submarine Rag aka Damon's Rag. Like I said, just for kicks. What a fun day with Uncle Billy!

What a great way to spend your day. Memorable moments for ya'll.

Snowed here yesterday, 35°. I wore longjons when I was in the garage. No guitar.

Wow, that is fantastic, Mark! I loved that... what a fun day. I know you'll cherish those memories for a long time. Thanks for sharing.

This trend of ex-moderators sharing spectacular music in their afterlife is wonderful, but somewhat worrisome...
