Help with a Shanti Dreadnought
I have a friend that owns a guitar repair shop here in Portland. He is trying to place a value for a client with a Shanti dreadnought (built by Michael Hornick) that is to be sold on consignment. They are having trouble finding a value for the guitar as the owner won it at the Telluride Bluegrass Troubadour contest.
I was hoping that someone on the forum may have an idea of what the guitar would be worth. It is virtually unplayed. I'm not sure of the year, but I believe that it is fairly recent. Here are a few photos. Any help would be appreciated. |

Sorry, can't help except to say there is a Shanti 12 string for sale at https://www.gbase.com/gear/shanti-d-12-3-1990-natural for "Call," i.e., lotsa bucks. That said, the 12 has Brazilian back & sides.
Michael Hornick is a very highly regarded, though fairly obscure, builder. |

I last saw a BRW FS Shanti with some minor wear but excellent overall go for about 8k at Gryphon.
I think the best person to ask might be Mike Joyce at Luthiers Collection as he's sold a number of Shanti guitars over the years. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
