Wow! What a back! Is it really that dark and rather brown than red? Or is this the light?

If you bug Leo again, he's further along on this one. I was at his shop yesterday and the back is braced, the top has a bit more bracing, and the rosette is in place. It's not his standard segmented rosette, but he wanted to try something new.

He'll have that and an Sitka/EIR OM on display in Santa Barbara. I'm hoping to play them both finished before then as I've played a number of his guitars and enjoy time with him talking about tone, woods, and more. (I've spent many hours in his shop over a few visits at this point)

Here are a few more photos of Diamondave's build. The blue-green accent woods are dyed maple.

Leo's making me a guitar too, and has been sending me sample photos to help us narrow down some design choices.

I'll begin a build thread for my guitar in a few months as we get closer to start time. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy watching Diamondave's beauty take shape with great interest.

Leo had me to the shop to photograph another project and I couldn't resist...and may I say that this guitar is absolutely beautiful. Whomever chooses to go home with it at SBAIC will be a very lucky person.
