SOUND!
I've had this wood for years. It's not the typical wood that I would use to build with, rather plain...but there was something about having wood that was over 50,000 years old that finally made me pull the trigger. While it is on my website, it's not one I would really like to sell. It's light as a feather sounds like a 30 year old D-18. With the K&K, I can know take it out and play it! for some more pics, click on http://www.yourperfectguitar.com/For...tKauri/OM.html.

I do always wonder who did the math on the "time in the ground". Given the years of history we have recorded which is only about 6000 of them, makes me always scratch my head a bit. Maybe the same people do that math who say my great grandparents were fish lol. But we DO know that Sinker Redwood is amazing after only being preserved for 150 years, so if this wood is at least 6000 years old...WOW!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful work.

Thank you Mike.
Tom, I suspect C14 was the method used to date the stuff.

Truth is, he knows the age because he planted those trees sooo long ago. 40,000 years ago he kept going on about how they would be something some day. Wore us out. But hey...he was right! SK |
