Default old 60s electrics

Hi strummers and pluckers,
I have a simple question- I think.
I have been a player of acoustic guitars for 50 years( it will come to you all!!).
Recently I have decided to buy several 60s electric guitars that are cheap here
maybe 80/95$ and working.
The ones I have played, I have no sensation at all and its just a mixture of notes. My friend says I should buy strings with more movement!

DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE MEANS and can you suggest some

Thanks in advance and may your 'g' string always twang

I'm afraid that's the problem with guitars - when you start out they all look alike but they certainly don't sound or feel alike. And here's the big problem: the cheaper they are the worse they typically sound and feel.

I’ve been playing classical, electric and steel-string acoustic guitars for decades yet I have no idea what your friend means. While lighter gauge strings vibrate at a wider amplitude than heavier gauge strings, I don’t know if he means for you to try lighter gauge strings or not or what problem he means to solve.

To be frank, I don’t understand what the specific issue is that you are experiencing with your electric guitars.

Can you restate this using different words?

Why don't you ask your friend what he means?

And yea as amyFB asked what does this mean? "I have no sensation at all and its just a mixture of notes"

My guess is that your friend is suggesting you use a lighter gauge as they will be easier to press and hold, movement? IDK???

My other guess is that by lack of sensation is from coming from playing acoustic guitar you are used to big heavy strings and the electric guitar feels mushy. BUt ya got us all confused on the mixture of notes part

Not exactly sure what he means either, but your not gonna get a $100 Tiesco Strat (or any other Jap copy) to sound anything like a Gibson J45
