Default Baggs venue vs session

I'm looking for a preamp to pair with my Anthem. I like the session, but wish it had an effects loop like the venue for a reverb. Is the session better than the venue? I don't think I need all the EQ the venue has, but the comp on the session is nice. Thoughts?

They are both great. Sounds like you want the Session. As for reverb, just add to your signal chain. My preference is for the Venue because of the great parametric EQ, and because I don't use compression.

I own both and used them pairing with the Anthem. I got good results with it. I preferred the Session. I liked what the Comp EQ knob combined with Saturation did for the Anthem. When I moved over to Dazzo pickups I found the Session unnecessary so I don't use it anymore. But for the Anthem it was awesome.

Great observations, Vancebo.

A few posts say they like how the session works with the anthem. I wonder if it's the mic or UST... or both. I have mine mixed about 50%, presence about 30%. Yes I can add a reverb to the chain, but then also have to add a separate DI. Effects loops would have been nice.

I bought a Session. Big shout out to Pitbull Audio who gave me a killer deal on a new one!
