Looks pretty good Ben.
The headstock looks very familiar.
Is that who you studied guitar building with?

Hi Guys,

Thank you all for your kind words, pretty appreciated! Like I said earlier, I've never been the apprentice of anyone.

If you think about Julian Gaffney for the headstock, yes he inspired me. If you make a compareason beetween his and my headshape, it is different in some points. Of course, I asked him if it bothered him and we are good

Yes indeed the headstock looked very similar to others, luthiers that come to mind when I see an offset headstock are-

Jordan McConnell
Jonathan Razo
Isaac Jang
Julian Gaffney

Nothing is new under the sun, and I'm certain that there are many more that have done something similar. If you were given the ok by another builder then go for it. As a newer builder I would highly recommend designing something that will distinguish you from others, so that people can look at the headstock and say that is a Paldacci Guitar. After all the headstock is about one of the only places on a guitar in which a builder can truly be unique! Just my 2 cents. Great work though I will be keeping up with this one!

You're totally right, and you surely know that designing a headstock totally original and that no one made before you is pratically impossible.

All of my fellows you spoke in your post have comon things in their headstock shape yes, but most of them have totally flat sides for example, and a couple of other things. I could give you a couple of other names, but our light differences make... all the difference

But thank you for your advice, always welcome to read such great analysis

Thanks for the reply Ben, maybe no formal training for building guitars
but surly you have experience as a woodworker. You just don't produce work like that from nowhere.

Thank you for your kind words SA

When I started school in 2009, I had No experience at all in woodworking, no woodworker in my family since we remember (like generations )

I started the 9th OM. I wanted to let the wood talk for this one. No fancy inlay or marquetery, all in the purity of the lines, the execution of the work and the sound.

Wenge and Carpathian (european spruce) is the perfect combo for that IMHO. I hope you'll love to follow this one too!
