I'm at about 97% of totality... Here was my deck... through the leaves.

Here's a poor quality CCTV video of the light change, but still very cool to watch!

Here in Georgia we got about 93%. Cool penumbra. Or should that be penumbras?

At my office, folk watched through an interesting assortment of eclipse-watching gadgets, ranging from pinhole cameras of several sorts to high-tech coated glass.

Just got back from 5 days of camping, culminating in a fantastic celestial event. I viewed the eclipse with eclipse glasses that I bought a couple months ago. I also cut the lens out of one pair and taped them onto some binoculars. I was amazed to be able to see sunspots when viewing the sun. When the eclipse began there were three sunspots lined up. As the moon advanced it ate up the sunspots one by one. All the while I had Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon cranking on the PA, as the eclipse entered totality, Eclipse (the song) began to play. Couldn't have been better.

We had 70% coverage here in New York. I set up my telescope with a solar filter in a park on the upper east side in New York City. I couldn't believe the crowd that showed up. It was awesome.

Here's what it looks like when you put your phone up to the eyepiece for a picture. The actual view was much better...very sharp and you could see sun spots.

Not really "visible" here, but it definitely got dark. And not just less light. The light was different. A totally different color/feel to it.

Maybe because of less diffused light, the shadows seemed crisper.

I was playing my guitar along with the eclipse and noticed remarkably sharp shadows on the ground.

The phone pic isn't great but you can even make out my strings' shadows.

Love that shot, Kerbie!

We headed up early this morning and had a nice viewing spot all to ourselves at about 12,500 ft.

Like Kerbie, I took a photo of the bokeh...

And about 90 other images during the event...

We were just out of "the path," with about 98% coverage. Able to shoot this right from our RV site...

Been pondering this a bit . One of the more interesting aspects to this for myself was observing the sky around my location that was fully lit while being in the shadow/umbra . Very unnatural feeling while also calming . Pretty much paradoxical for myself .
I know that I will be there for 2024 if I am able .

Because of the reports of horrible traffic, I almost didn't go. But thanks to the encouragement of my friend, and a hotel reservation her brother had made back in January, we drove to Klamath Falls on Sunday, from North San Juan, CA, with normal traffic the whole way. The same was true early the next morning, driving from Klamath Falls to Madras,. We got our official sun viewing glasses at the local gas station, and then drove a little farther north to a field near where NASA had their viewing and research team.

Seeing the corona, Bailey's beads, the drop in temperature, and other features was absolutely incredible. Prior to going, I read about how the experience was said to be life changing, and that was definitely true for us. Traffic back to Klamath Falls was horrible, and lived up to the dire predictions, but it was well worth the time.
