The short wait will be worth it
You're gonna love your Emerald X20, it's one of the best guitars out there, IMHO.

Regarding ZEEWAY's first question about the neck. For me, Emerald's neck profile is very similar to my two Taylors. The Taylor nylon crossover has an 1-7/8" nut as standard and I ordered my year old 616 with a custom neck matching it. Two Martin guitars I'd had in the past also had this width and it's what I like. When ordering the Emerald I, again went with this width so when it arrived it felt "like home" except that I was immediately aware of the fretboard radius being bigger resulting in a flatter fretboard. Until then, I didn't know that I'd be sensitive to it. One more item to be aware of!

Bonus points to Gryffindor if the X20 comes out of the shipping box and is still in tune!

I'm at the point in my playing where "close enough" isn't close enough. At these prices, even if only a relatively small number of customers require this level of precision, custom necks could be a financially viable option for any cf guitar maker. |

Doc, some people find gloss necks to feel kinda sticky whereas they find satin is smoother.

I think you're going to love the X20. I got to play one for quite a while, and it's an amazin guitar.
I've owned a Rainsong Shorty for about 5 years, and I really like it as well. My only complaint is the edge of the fretboard is a little "sharp", which can be uncomfortable depending on how lady my fretting hand is getting. I prefer the sound of the rainsong to the X20, but that's purely subjective. When playing the X20, the sound to the player is huge, but it doesn't project as much as the Rainsongs I've played, probably because of the offset soundhole. It's also partially due to the top construction. I still want an X20 though. They're amazing.

It would be all Rainsongs with an N2 neck. But mine is about 5 years old, so I'm not sure how production has changed in that time. Also, I'm sure it doesn't really bother most people. But I've seen it talked about here and there. And it's noticeable to me.
