Juston, too cool - nice pics! I don't think I remember seeing the burst on the neck - very nice touch and it integrates really well!!

Thanks for posting!!

Wonderful! Congrats! I hope to hear it sometime. I'm in the bay area now and them (family, shopping, libraries, etc.), so perhaps we can get together sometime.

It's hard to believe I've had this guitar for 5.5 years now. It has really aged in a stunning way, and notes are full of bloom and complexity. The blue spruce top is very lively and punchy, which is a characteristic I really like in OM-size guitars. I use the word "punchy" quite a bit when describing my guitars, and it really seems to be a result of the kinds of guitars I pick. I like guitars with a fast attack and good projection.

To me, blue sprue sits somewhere between Euro and Adirondack, though maybe more towards Euro. It has great headroom and volume, but also has a bit more overtone content than I associate with most Adirondack (more like Euro). It also didn't take quite as long to break in as my Adi-topped guitars. I do notice that the bass has become fuller over the years, creating what I would describe as a very balanced OM. It has a very similar tonal spectrum to my Circa OM, though maybe it is more open (perhaps a result of the side port) and mid-rangey.

I am still enormously satisfied every time I play this guitar, and every once in a while I have to indulge myself in the artistry and take a close look at all Mike's little details. Mike is a master! The ergonomics of the asymmetrical design and the overall playability are hard to match. And I love being able to adjust the action with a turn of an allen wrench - such a nice change from the old fashioned way (sandpaper or shims).

Nice update, Juston. It looks as spectacular as ever.

Next time we get together you should play my blue spruce / tree OM. I think it would be a great complement to the tone of your Meridian.

Cheers,

Phil

Yeah, I'm seriously considering an Adirondack and mahogany Meridian. I would love to play yours!
