Default Taylor T3

I do not now why but I like semi hollows. Love a 335/ heritage 535. Also own a Gibson 137 which will never be sold. I rec'd a T3 for a present for my bday from my wife. It has taken me a year to like this guitar but I cannot put it down...Love the dang thing. Took some fret leveling but man this plays nice.

I think the T3s are just about the best value in electrics. Consistent. I really wanted one, but had to pass for only one reason. The pick ups are too close to each other for my massive hands. My thumb pick kept clicking, clacking and wacking the neck pickup and my fingernails did the same on the bridge pickup. I opted for a T5 and a Gretsch 6120 instead.

I've owned one since they hit the streets back in 2009, I believe it was.
Great looking, always gets comments and questions from the crowd.
Great Player, I tried every full and semi-hollow I could get my hands on and the Taylor T3B (Bigsby) won the day.

I have 2 T3/B models. Great guitars overall. I went on a binge a few years back because I was worried Taylor was going to discontinue them.

I was in LA Guitars for a visit last year and I think Ted commented that current T3 production is Taylor flushing old stock. They are also priced way below a roughly equivalent gloss T5 or T5z...

Taylor does not get much respect for their electrics. I am not sure why but the T3 is great. The guitar with split coils and 2 tone circuits is a unique combo and very versatile. I hope they do not drop production.

I paid full price on my 1st T3/B. My 2nd was about $1,000 cheaper.

I'd pay good money if Taylor or another company would sell a similar tone circuit that could be installed in any guitar. Fender and Stellartone also have some nice alternatives to the conventional tone knob.

It would be nice if the T3 keeps going strong. Good feel and flexibility. They obviously cut a few corners with the flat top and bolt-on neck joint, but these aren't things that will change the tone dramatically. It would be nice if Taylor offered other pickups like a Filteron, P90, etc. My 2nd T3/B was modified with Lollartrons and a Stellartone since none of the original electronics were compatible.

I have thought about doing that. I don't mind the HG pickups since the higher gain seems to work for rock applications and back off on the volume to get a more mellow sound. Sometimes I think it would be superb if Taylor would just release a T3 fully hollow so I wouldn't need to pay out the nose for a nice jazz box.
