Default "Time After Time" Tutorial (by Cyndi Lauper & Rob Hyman)

https://youtu.be/YrC3A0wZmi8

Above is Part I of the my tutorial on how I played "Time After Time" on this recent thread here. Below is Part II.

https://youtu.be/AYq4nJFJNVs

On my recent thread there seemed to be some interest among a few AGF members to know more about how I played this great song from 1983. I hope these videos are helpful.

Here are the chords and lyrics used:

Time After Time
Cyndy Lauper & Rob Hyman

INTRO:
G6 A7sus4 Dsus2 x3
Gadd9 Asus2 F#m7 Gadd9 x2

Em D Em D Em D Em D
Lying in my bed, I hear the clock tick and think of you.
Em D Em D Em D Em D
Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new.
G Asus2 F#m7 G Asus2 F#m7
Flash back, warm nights, almost left
G Asus2 F#m7 G
behind. Suitcase of memories...
A
Time after...

Em D Em D Em D Em D
Some times you picture me, I'm walking too far ahead.
Em D Em D Em D Em D
You're calling to me, I can't hear what you've said.
G Asus2 F#m7 G Asus2 F#m7
Then you say, Go slow, I fall behind.
G Asus2 F#m7 G
The second hand unwinds.

Asus2 Bm7addE
If you're lost, you can look and you will
G6 Asus2 Dsus2
find me time after time.
A2sus2 Bm7addE
If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting
G6 A7sus4 Dsus2
Time after time.
Asus2 Bm7addE
If you're lost, you can look and you will
G6 A7sus4 Dsus2
find me time after time.
Asus2 Bm7addE
If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting
G6 A7sus4 Dsus2
Time after time.

[Instrumental] Gadd9 Asus2 F#m7 Gadd9 x2

Em D Em D Em D Em D
After my picture fades and darkness has turned to gray,
Em D Em D Em D Em D
Watching through windows, you're wondering if I'm okay.
Gadd9 Asus2 F#m7 Gadd9 Asus2 F#m7
Secrets stolen from deep inside,
Gadd9 Asus2 F#m7 Gadd9
The drum beats out of time.

Asus2 Bm7addE
If you're lost, you can look and you will find
G6 A7sus4 Dsus2
me time after time.
Asus2 Bm7addE
If you fall i will catch you, i'll be waiting
G6 A7sus4 Dsus2
Time after time.

[Instrumental]
Asus2 Bm7addE G6 A7sus4 Dsus2
Asus2 Bm7addE G6 A7sus4 Dsus2
[Bridge]
Gadd9 Asus2 F#m7 Gadd9 Asus2 F#m7
You say, Go slow, I fall behind.
Gadd9 Asus2 F#m7 Gadd9
The second hand unwinds.

Thanks so much for this Glenn. The only problem for me is the part where this is a song for singers, since I'm not much of a singer. Maybe I can get one of my singer friends to carry the vocals.

Hi Dubi,

Thanks for checking this out!

Regarding my comment about this being a song for singers, I guess there is no reason that a person couldn't turn this into an instrumental piece. It would take a little more work to figure out how to add in more melody notes.

Best of luck, Dubi!
