The trouble with Game of Thrones is that kids will watch this and believe that it is real.

As one who has read the books, I can tell you that the TV show is full of glaring historical inaccuracies....

Regarding GOT - it took me quite a time to get drawn in (my wife refuses to watch it for some reason) - We get it on Tuesday nights.

Which Episode has so upset you? I think we get Epi 66 (Beyond The Wall) tomorrow night.

Should I watch it from behind the sofa?

This is a problem, as the real life Game of Thrones didn't start at Winterfell, but actually to have been more historically accurate, should have started at the Tower of Joy with Eddard Stark outside and his sister Lyanna within. Or something like that, to be more accurate that is...

Yes, Beyond the Wall.

From behind the sofa? No. Better to be sitting securely on it. Perhaps a bracing cup of tea nearby; and a clean kerchief with which to mop your sweating brow.

My son watched the first six seasons but didn't read the books.

I read the books and didn't watch the first six seasons.

We compare notes. They started very similarly but diverged slowly like all book-to-screen projects usually do. But, GRRM advised them on the stories and approved their renditions.

They passed by his writing so he told them what will happen in the books.
