Default The Eclipse

We're going to have a full eclipse on Monday here in Nashville. Supposedly the glasses we have are verified as safe, but I'm a bit skeptical with all the recalls that have been going on with eclipse glasses.

Who else is in the eclipse path. Are you going to use the glasses to look at the sun, or just watch your town go dark (which would be pretty cool)?

Go to a local weld shop and buy a number 14 glass .
For myself , I am most interested in observing during totality .

As long as your glasses are from the list of approved manufacturers, you're fine. If you're in doubt, try them on ahead of time. If you can see ANYTHING but the disc of the sun through them outside, then something's wrong. You can also try them with a REALLY bright light bulb, and the most you should see is the glowing filament and there should be no eye strain whatsoever.

I live right in the path of 100% coverage, so I'm just hoping for clear weather. But if it's not clear, at least we'll still get to experience the darkness!

Yep, we've got glasses and we're gonna watch it go dark between 12 noon and 2pm! I hear a lot of people are coming to Nashville for the eclipse. I think I'll stay at home Monday.

I just got into Nashville about an hour ago for the eclipse and some guitar shopping. I think my glasses are ok (hope so, I tested them by looking st the sun back home a few days ago and I'm not blind yet)

Aside from Gruhns, Carter Vintage and the Opry, what are the other must see Nashville attractions- never been here before

Go see The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's home. Walk around downtown, around 2nd 3rd and 4th streets.

All this time, I thought "eclipse" was what an English barber does.

I'm playing golf that day. Sun should be about 80% covered as we're coming up 18. That'll be weird.

I'm in the path of totality but the marine layer, which has had us socked in most of this month, may put a damper on things. There was supposed to be an influx of a few hundred thousand to the area but I can look right down on the town and Hgwy 101 and at 8:30 on a Saturday night it looks dead as a door nail down there :^ /

There is some great info in the video about what to look for during the eclipse. Also the app looks great - I just got it.

I live in Mass, so up here we will get only about 70% coverage.
I still plan to view it of course.

Did someone say "Eclair"?

I'm not interested in the eclipse. But an eclair... I'm in!
