Avalon A2-20 2015 Acoustic Guitar - SOLD
2015 Avalon A2-20 that I picked up recently but find the body is bigger that what I expected. It is in near mint condition, as is the Hiscox case. NO fretwear whatsoever on the guitar, no modifications. Clear pickguard has not been attached and will be included in the case along with original paperwork showing the new purchase price of over $3100 when bought new in 2016. Set is perfect, 6/64" at the 12th fret bass side, 5/64 at the treble side. Asking $1700, shipping will be waived when using the reverb link below, just contact me first. Shipping is to continental US only. Not interested in trades. More info below:
https://reverb.com/item/6328131-aval...th-hiscox-case • Back and Sides: Solid East Indian Rosewood • Top: Solid Alpine Spruce • Nut and Saddle: Bone • Scale length: 25 1/2" (648mm) • Nut width: 1 3/4" (44mm) String spacing - 2 3/16 • Lower Bout: 16" (406mm) • Upper Bout: 11 7/8" (300mm) • Waist: 9 7/8" (252mm) • Tailblock Depth: 4 3/4" (120mm) Hand crafted in Northern Ireland with a solid Alpine spruce top and solid rosewood back and sides. Ebony bridge, fingerboard, and tuner buttons. Bindings are solid pear wood. Bone nut and saddle. High quality Gotoh tuners. Avalons are high quality instruments hand crafted by some of Europe's best luthiers! Avalon started out as Lowden Guitars, and became Avalon when George Lowden went his own way more than 10 years ago. Avalons are built in the same shop by several of the same luthiers that were building Lowden branded guitars back then. Avalons are equal if not better in build quality to Lowdens, and have the same clear as a bell - like sound and ease of play, with a somewhat different tone. The differences, to the extent you can detect them, may be due to the different bridge styles (Avalons use bridge pins vs Lowdens through - the - bridge (Taylor style) approach. Avalon also uses two different proprietary bracing patterns, as well as a superior truss rod, the Gotoh Bi Flex. Last edited by jherr; 09-03-2017 at 08:52 AM. |

Folks, this a super nice guitar. If you're into the Irish guitars, this one would be hard to beat. Great big sound and the craftsmanship is second to none.
