Default Dvorak New World Symphony Largo Movement

This is just a beautifully simple piece, with such a memorable theme. Im almost surprised its from the 1800s, nearly sounds contemporary to me. I stumbled upon this for guitar listening to a William Wilson CD titled "Music for Sleep and Relaxation"

Does anybody have a good tab for this? I've emailed Wilson the arranger, but doubt I'll hear back from him.

Its worth a listen if you've never heard it on guitar before.

I don't have a tab for it, but I love the "New World"! Beautiful piece of music... played it in orchestras many times years ago.

Can't help you with tab for the piece, but it IS beautiful...

If you have not heard of this record, get a hold of "Largo"; the CD was released in 1998, and features three or four versions of the Largo theme from Dvorak's symphony, along with a cast of many wonderful players....

The "house band" is the Hooters, but they are augmented by The Chieftains, Taj Mahal, Cyndi Lauper, Carole King, Joan Osborne, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson... you get the idea!

The songs are all about America; about the Old American West, about current times (like a Pakistani cabbie in NYC!), all written by the guys in the Hooters... Rob Hymans wrote "Time After Time" that Cyndi Lauper recorded famously...

Although it took me until mid-2000's to first hear this, it has been a favorite since... just finished listening to it again, and I just shake my head at how brilliant the entire record is! This is one of those recordings that, after you give it a thorough listen, you can scarcely believe that a recording of this caliber is "out there", and you had not heard it before...

Truly a masterwork of blending so many styles, so many players, into Dvorak's theme (and indeed, his vision of this "New World" of ours, which he was taken with when he came to America to visit, way back when...).

Thanks for the kind replys. The guitarrist actually emailed me, said he didn't arrange it but played it note for note out of this book (Popular classics of the great composers):

https://www.amazon.com/Popular-Class...G4KGJ269WFDKJK

I would buy this book and send it to any of you out there on AGF that would tab it out for us and share it back!

I'll look at those other options, but am finding that I get so much more mileage out of memorizing the piece the way it caught my ear (voicings/phrasings/harmonies/etc). If I go with one of those other options I may spend precious learning time i have at this point in my life backtracking.

separately, I'll def have a listen to the album mentioned, thanks again!
