2015 Highly Figured Mango/ Engelmann SJ Demo/Show – Charis Acoustic Post - Sold!

Koa Arm & Rib Bevel, Sound-port, Segmented Koa Fingerboard Trim, Scrip "S" Fingerboard Inlay, Gold Gotoh 510's with custom Koa Buttons, Custom Koa Dots in the Bridge Pins and in the Fingerboard Side Markers. Comes in a Mainstage Fiberglass Custom Flight Case. This instrument has been a show guitar for us for the past two years. It was completed shortly before the Memphis show in 2015. It has one minor mark on the back. It is time for it to find a home. This mango came from Hawaii. I selected this set, and a few more like it, directly from the person who cut the logs. It is light weight, unlike some of the mango from other parts of the world. It has a similar feel to Koa when I work with it in the shop. It is very expressive. Responds well to a light touch and doesn’t mind being pushed. It would not be my choice for a hard driving flat picker. The tone is balanced. It is a dryer tone like Mahogany, not reverby like the rosewoods. The Engelmann top has a nice richness to the overtones but doesn’t bury the fundamental in complexity. Wow. Mango? As in the fruit tree? Goodness that is beautiful.
The koa appointments work incredibly well. Fantastic work. Judging solely from the sound clips it sounds great as well. Mark
