Jim emailed me today - he's about to spray the final coat on mine, and 9 others. That will be followed by buffing, which may take a little time - however it looks like I'm on the final stretch. And like all good AGFers who are always thinking about "just one more", I've already started the process for my next build - which will be a.............Stephen Kinnaird! More to come on that one, but can't wait to get the Olson in my hands!!

Congrats on the Olson, it's fun following this build and seeing Jim's unique way of building all of the guitars for the year simultaneously. And double congrats on your next commission with Steve Kinnaird. Being the proud owner of two of their guitars I can tell you that you will be thrilled with their work. I am lucky enough to live fairly close and have visited the shop several times, they are great guy's who build great guitars! I can't wait to see what you choose? but first let's get this amazing Olson across the finish line, I can't wait to see it done!!

Indeed, it sounds like the home stretch. Exciting times. And grats on your Kinnaird commission. I have one of those coming my way in a week or so.

I know the feeling! There's a part of me that wants to do another after taking delivery of the Heinonen... even though I really ought to be done for now (and possibly forever given how nicely mines starting to open up). Just pure greed on my part...

Can't wait to see your finished Olson!

Well, as promised, Jim sent some pics today of my guitar - it's getting its final spray and then on to final buffing/polishing.

It does look good, Steve. And the mahogany's color is a fine match to the cedar top. (Though you seldom get to see the two juxtaposed like that picture. When assembled, you'll have to take a glancing view over the top and down the heel. It'll be worth it!)

What a beautiful guitar.

You went with the classic combination and I'm sure you'll be thrilled. Mine is a few years old now but I still get excited every time I pick it up.

Hopefully I won't see that kind of juxtaposition again for many years to come (if ever)!!

You're getting a new Olson. And you're thinking about the next guitar? Weird.
