Leave it up, put back the pics, and be patient - this is a more narrowly-focused forum, but speaking from experience you've also got a far more knowledgeable group when it comes to instruments of this type; you'll get a response or three if you hang in there ...
Sent you a PM...

Steve sent me a message, he has been very helpful so as a show of respect I'll put these pics back.
This is available locally, going to see it Sat, built by a local man basedon a Bob Bendetto (sp) book. The finish is nitro, carved spruce top, carved maple back and sides. Lower bout is 17" and thickness at sides is 4" He is asking $350-$400 and I'm gonna try and get him to toss in a pickup. |

If that guitar plays well and sounds good, then it's an amazing deal for that price.
It looks a bit "rustic", not as refined as the high end luthiers. But if it's fun to play so what? |

As said, if it sounds good and plays well, it looks like too much fun to NOT buy for $350. It's a piece of folk art.

Contra: The only thing I wonder about is the neck joint. Do we see glue? Is there something odd about it? Pro: Since it is 4" deep at the sides, it may be 4 1/2 or 5" deep at the center hump. Add into that the wide F holes too. I think that will be a very loud arch-top - acoustically. I know that because those are the approximate dimensions of my own arch-top. Are you going to meet the builder? It looks like an ebony tailpiece. What is the fret board? The neck? It almost looks too good to be true at $350. Pac-Rim arch-tops w/those materials - I've seen. Hand-made in a Western country for that price? That is a new one on me. I think that seller would be taking a loss. A finished tailpiece like that at Stew-Mac is $104. http://www.stewmac.com/Hardware_and_...nd_Tailpieces/ Unfinished it's around $23. That doesn't include the fastener - $12. The bridge is around $23. Stew-Mac does not sell that particular bridge. I don't know how much it cost or where the builder got it. Add the tuners, frets? And we haven't even gotten to the main wood parts yet. Top - over $100 minimum - http://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and...htop_Tops.html Back and sides - over $150 -min. http://www.stewmac.com/Materials_and...htop_Tops.html Buy it - w/pick-up or without.
