Default New "band name"....whatdoyathink??

My regular restaurant gig is going to advertise me and they want a "name" for the radio/newspaper spots. I've been going by Rich Macklin (my middle name) for years because my last name is hard to pronounce or spell, but since I regularly use a vocalizer now as the harmonies add so many more potential songs, I though...............

Since I use a TC Helicon VoiceLive2, calling myself "Rich and the Helicons" !!

Clever or stupid, I won't be offended.............

I sort of like Rich Macklin.

I think that giving oneself a "band name" when that person is a solo artist is a little nutty.

Not stupid, but I agree with PorkPieGuy that it seems a little silly and that Rich Macklin is a good name.

I think the band name is clever. But I think I'm with the others... I prefer Rich Macklin. Simple and much catchier.

Hi Rich -
Creative, but I would stick with what you have. Sounds more professional for a solo guy.

Try "Mack Richlin" and see if anyone notices.

Get some chicks in the band and you could be "Macklin and the Mackettes".

Helicon Rich ...sounds space-agey , futuristic , and ambiguous .
Is it a man? ...is it a band ?... is it a man with a mechanical device?...
is it a mechanical man ?...

Hmmm, somehow that reminds me of Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks featuring the Lickettes. Do you remember the '70s too or is that kind of fuzzy?

Where/when do we get to see/hear Larry and the Pattettes?

There are some good band names here.
"PorkPieGuys", The Tone Gophers", "The Acousticados" I think Larry Pattis is taken
