Smile '06 R.Taylor Style 1 Cedar/Mahogany SOLD AGF!

2006 R. Taylor style one. BACK AGAIN, 1/13/17

Sold to SWELL AGF MEMBER

I have something in my sights. Will drop price on Reverb soon if not sold here on AGF...

EXCELLENT + condition!

https://reverb.com/item/1170520-r-ta...-taylor-repairj

Cedar/mahogany. No cutaway. VERY LIGHTWEIGHT!

Super rich and warm balanced tone at every note on every fret.

1 13/16 inch nut, 2 3/16 inch string spacing at the bridge saddle. 25.5 inch scale.

If you have played a standard Taylor x16 size (Grand Symphony/GS) It is the same on the OUTSIDE. Like a x14 (Grand Auditorium/GA) on steroids. So, 16.25 LB. slim 10"waist and 11 3/8 UB. 3.75" and 4.75" deep.

Very curvy and sits on your knee real nice!!!

K and K pick up. works perfectly

Looks almost new!

Set up, buffed out, and dialed in to perfection by Tim Luranc. Tim has worked at Taylor, since before it was Taylor.

Tim Luranc was the head luthier and in charge of R.Taylor!!! Now Senior Repair Tech at TR in El Cajon.
Tim has played this guitar at gigs with me, and commented most favorably on it's incredible tone and playability.

Slimmer neck. First year of production so it may have had some variation. Not as slim as my slim carve RT or 90's Taylor necks, but does feel a bit more slim than normal.

Action is just under 6/64 or 3/32 inch at the big E string, and at 4/64 or 2/32 at the small E. So slightly under Taylor's recommended action height. Very versatile. Works well for finger style and happily accepts moderate flatpicking or thumbpick with grace and ease.

R.Taylor's style one is the same size as the Taylor Grand Symphony. But there are several significant structural differences under the hood. See below...

16.25 inch lower bout. Kind of like a dreadnought with more curves.

Super smooth and accurate brushed gold Gotoh 510 tuners.

Taylor bone nut, and NEW Taylor wave compensated bone saddle.

Original Ameritage Taylor branded OHSC, is in excellent condition. All latches work perfectly. No dings or gouges, and it smells fine. These cases are extremely protective, although they are a tad heavy. Fits the guitar like a glove, and does the job admirably!

Super well maintained. This guitar has been kept in its properly humidified case when not being played or massaged with a ToneRite guitar vibrator. And stored in my climate controlled, humidity monitored, plant filled music room. In my non-smoking pet free, child free home. Yes, perhaps I am a bit obsessive…

This guitar sounded incredible when I bought it! It had been played enough to open up nicely. Now that has been hung seven or eight times for a week at a time with the ToneRite, the sound is out of this world.

Even though I prefer a narrower nut as I am old and beat up with small hands to boot, I could not resist.

R.Taylor was a completely separate company from Taylor guitars. Their guitars took about three times as long to make, due to extensive individual voicing and handwork. Unfortunately they turned out to be in competition with Taylor's Build To Order and custom guitar programs. They ceased production at the end of 2011. I have it on good authority from folks I know who worked at R.T. that if they ever start up production again the guitars will be a lot more expensive!

R.Taylor only made about 200 guitars a year for six years. In contrast the two Taylor factories turn out about 400 guitars per day!

R.T.s have significant structural differences from any other Taylors. Among them, solid Kerfing! Resulting in extremely rigid sides, which allowed the top to be made a bit lighter and braced a bit lighter, which needs to be done by hand, but delivers more volume, and better tone!
Also, the "snake head" headstock provides considerably smoother tuning due to a straighter string angle over the nut. And the Gotoh 510 tuners cannot be beat!

Very very few signs of wear at all. A couple tiny drop fills barely visible on the top. And no fret wear. Really, Tim did a spectacular job making this beauty look new.

She will be shipped insured and signature required. Tuned down down two whole steps, well padded in her properly humidified case suspended in a properly padded shipping carton . Will be on her way to the post office ASAP after cleared payment is received. Usually within one business day.

If you would prefer a different method of shipping, and or are out of the continental United States please contact me so we can work it out.

If you prefer I will ship first thing on the next Monday,
to have less time in transit.

Everybody play more real music. This world needs it!

Here's a GREAT guitar from an even GREATER AGF seller. Anyone who know's Paul, loves Paul. And he certainly knows guitars, and has a personal relationship with Tim L who is the former "guru" who helped make Taylor who they are and more specifically helped make R Taylor guitars special.

This is a GREAT price on this guitar. Buy with confidence...this one, like all of Paul's is "dialed in" !!If I din't need to sell guitars so badly, I'd buy this one myself.

Best of luck with your sale Paul!

Smile Thanks everybody!

Thank you very much, Mike! Please, please sell the others and keep the JK!

Alan, the neck is too wide for my old beatup left hand... and I have another monster John Kinnaird custom on the bench!

Rye, Thanks for the pics,again!

And, Tim Luranc LOVES this guitar. He was Taylor's FIRST employee, and was the Head Luthier for RT the entire time they were in production! He is now Head Tech at Taylor Repair, El Cajon! He has "THE TOUCH". And, Tims fingers are an inch longer than mine. Sigh.....

Some one buy this and put me out of my misery. Haha

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME TONE AND PLAYABILITY...

LIGHT TOO...

Cheers

Paul

I had the pleasure of playing this guitar. It stood out as one of the two best RTs I have played.

Awesome price for a guitar of this build quality, playability and tone.

And of course Paul is a tremendous guy to deal with.

If you are thinking about it, go ahead and push the button before someone else does.

Smile Thanks Rob

Thank you Rob! Your assessment means a lot to me.

If this had a 1.75" slim carve I would keep it until I can not play any longer!

But, sadly, my hands do not seem to grow and the neck does not shrink either!

So it needs a new home. Please help! Haha

Cheers

Paul
