Default Martin Custom Shop D-28 12 Fret, Cocobolo back and sides, Amazing Tone!

If you were to order this guitar from Martin's Custom Shop directly, you would pay $11,276.00 - with Madagascar rosewood back and sides (.095" and .065" thickness respectively). My guess is that if Cocobolo were offered, the guitar would be priced anywhere from $700 to $1,200 less, depending on features. But that's just nuts.

For some reason, a Martin Authorized dealer is told to sell this guitar for $5,984.05 - retail pricing, WITH Cocobolo back and sides. Realistically, you could get this guitar new for somewhere around $4,600... more or less.

This guitar is in excellent shape and is stunning, both in appearance and sound. While a sound clip might be nice, there are too many variables that impact the quality of sound. And, if you want to hear some recordings of this guitar, send me an email.

Of note, this guitar has sloped shoulders, a Premium Sitka Spruce top, Grover 18:1 tuners, modified low oval mahogany neck, ebony fret-board and bridge as well as a bone nut and compensated saddle. The advantage of a 12 fret guitar is that it places the bridge in the "sweet spot" of the top. The improvement in tone is impressive. A 14 fret guitar will never sound as good, everything else being the same.

It weighs 4lbs., 14.9 ounces according to my postal scale.

This guitar is strung with Martin's Acoustic SP Phosphor/Bronze 12.5 strings.

The photos also include pictures of the build sheet. For a PDF of the build from Martin's Custom shop, you can send me an email at:

All serious offers over $3,600 will be considered. This guitar will be listed on other sites as well.

While I am new to this forum, I've been playing most of my life and I'm nearing retirement age. I also have excellent feedback on eBay (100% on 589 transactions), if that means anything.

Thank you for your time.

Basically a D28S with killer Cocobolo and a premium top. Very, very nice. I'm a huge fan of sloped D 12 frets. This one looks killer. GLWS
