It’s like holding your head close to the sound hole when playing my D-15 and the arch top sounds like a choir or angels pumped though the BOSS.

I have discovered a nasty artifact when I’m digging in on the D-15 on the low E or A string. It’s almost an explosive sound at tone. This isn’t present with the arch top at all no matter how hard I drive it. So I’m thinking that I am going to have to send the Martin in for some service. This is going to sucketh much!

I’ve never sent in my Martin to be serviced, will have to check and see if there are any authorized service centers around Bham.
Does this amp have a high pass filter? My Martin dread is fairly boomy on those strings as well.

I think maybe it does... I will have to read over the manual tomorrow and figure it out.

Would love to know how these compare to the loudbox sound wise, especially for vocals.

I had chance to locate my USB cable I need to record from the amp so I will be able to provide a recording in the next several days not... still messing with the amp. Still loving it!

Hi I am very interested by the Amp:

We are a duo guitar acoustic and vocal.

And I want to know if you can connect via usb the amp to an Iphone or other smartphone with an app like Irig recorder 3.

The plan is to be able to record:
1. Two tracks separate guitar and voice.
2. And in the same time I can film my gigs with my smartphone.
3. Download on my computer the show polish the two tracks..
And I have a proper Filming and recording...

Let me know if you can do that on your amp..

Thanks.

I’ll be glad to look at it when I see it.. Wife is in the hospital right now. So I’m spending time in stiff chairs. Should have your answer by this weekend some time.

It looks like ya can do the Aux input via 3.5mm input to the amp then pull all of three channels out the USB interface to your favorite DAW. So if I understand the question correctly; yes.

Thanks Kip Carter,

My question was:
I want to know if you can connect via usb the amp (Boss acoustic live) to an Iphone or other smartphone with an app like Irig recorder 3.

The plan is to be able to record:
1. Two tracks separate guitar and voice.
2. And in the same time I can film my gigs with my smartphone.
3. Download on my computer the show polish the two tracks..

I don't have the amp in question but I do own a Boss Katana head with a USB Rec out and I imagine they are similar when it comes to this feature. The USB in my Katana is not USB Audio class compliant which is required for iPad/iphone audio via USB. So an audio interface to your phone would be required.

Rob, what confuses me about your question is that it seems to be two separate issues.

The 3.5mm input is where you iPhone would connect. The USB on the amp is for output only to a DAW. Yes the amp will absolutely do the two line inputs to the record out (guitar and voice), but I’ve never tested recording the the 3.5mm input on top of that.

Now that gets us down to item 2 which is where in my mind we are dealing with seperate issue. The same smart phone as you’re pumping music into the amp, would depend on you having a) a long Enough cable to sit the phone an adequate distance from the set to capture the image and b) be able to record video while playing music out the mini plug. This is going to depend on your apps that play the music and do the recording. Likely some combo will work (untested).

As for item 3... That is why you capture it to a DAW so you can record the channels and tweak them according to your desired effect. Now unless you mess with the time scale modifications to the audio would not affect the ability to synchronize the music with the video which will be done more than likely with a pc or Mac app for movie making.

Me, I would pump my input audio to the amp with one device, Record to the DAW with another, and use phone to capture the video.

All you would have to do then is overwrite the audio track on the phone video with your mastered audio you have coming out of your DAW software. You’d be home free.

Thanks a lot for your answer.....

I try with an audio interface Focusrite Isolo and it work.
Plug in my acoustic guitar and the microphone Left and right.
Meaning:
1. I can record two tracks separate on my smartphone with the Ios app Irig Recorder 3.
2. And in the same with the app I can also film.

Do you think boss is aware about that and make one day working???

Because the Boss acoustic singer is already usb......
I was thinking I don't need an audio-interface..

Thanks again.

Default Looper Specs

Thanks for this post, Kip. I'm sure I'm overlooking it on the Boss site, but I haven't found details on the looper (e.g. maximum duration of loop, number of independent loopers. I love the all-in-one concept, but I wonder what compromises there must be to, say, the functionality of my Boomerang III.

Best,
Rick

Default Little "distortion" problem with this great amp

Hi Kip and everyone,
Thanks for posting about this great amp with many cool features! I just got mine and though I'm quite happy with the power and its bonuses, I am a little disappointed when I sing with it. Just at about half a volume (both on the vocal channel and the master knob), my voice gives an annoying distortion sometimes (especially with the harmonizer, which I keep at about 11 hrs - see pic below.). Of course I am not a "screamer" and I don't sing closer to 2/3 inches (6/8 cms) to the mike. So, I thought that maybe the mid-woofer might be the problem, therefore I removed the grill (simply with a flat screwdriver or a hard pick, from its frame) and checked the speakers. Here's how the woofer looks like. Seems like the dome is a little "deteriorated", or damaged, anyway.
Now, may I ask you to check yours, to see if it looks the same, please? If you said that it is exactly the same, then I would check with the seller, or write to Roland.
Thank you in advance,
Jiji
