It makes me sad to hear how many good people these fires have hurt. There are some things that you can't replace...

I lived through a relatively small house fire - and it absolutely ruined family's life for about 2 months... It really opened my eyes.

The #1 thing every family needs to have is a plan to get out fast when crazy rains down on them.
2 things:
1. What stuff do you have to have - specifically legal documents, possibly irreplaceable pictures, clothes, pets, medical equipment/medications, and cash.
2. Where will you go the FIRST night? Where can you take your pets? Who can you call on?
