I brought this beauty home on monday and thought I'd share a baby pic with you. Her full name is Gretsch Electromatic G-5122 , but you can just call her stunning. Cigars available at the checkout counter.

Love it!!!!

I love thin body electrics.

The Gretsch Duo Jet has been tempting me for a long time. Gretsch thin bodies don't get a lot of play in the press, but they play and sound terrific.

Congrats!!

I forgot to give a shout out and thank you to Mama Tried. Thanks for the heads up on this new arrival, this is the only guitar I've ever bought right outta the box, unplayed by the sullied masses. It being a 125th anniversery special makes it even more..well...special.

Thumbs up yowza!

Really nice! I think Gretsch guitars have an almost "liquid" sound
What amp(s) are you going to play her through?

Well, right now I only have my Roland AC 60. When I play out I mainly use my Larrivee, the Gretsch is mostly for couch concerts right now....

Waaayyy cool. Props to you on your new acquisition. I own two Gretsches (G6128 TSP Harrison Reissue Duo Jet + G6120 TM Chet Atkins) made in Japan at the Terada factory. Build quality is as superb as Rickenbacker and that's sayin' a lot. I think the 5000-series are made in Korea but I understand the quality is good. Keep on keepin' on.....there's nothin' like that Gretsch twang! Regards.....Kabookie

Default New Better Pics

Yep kabookie, you're right ..Korean made, but workmanship is outstanding. A 6120 is on my lottery winning list, or maybe a Super Chet. Here's some better pics I took today, the first ones didn't do it justice !
