Default New Journey OF660 Black

I finally broke down and called Ted last Friday. The most recent NAMM reporting here with new Journey and low cost RainSong options kept haunting my thoughts :~). I've previously made the pilgrimage to LA Guitar Sales on my last trip to CA. BTW there was a nice Middle Eastern restaurant nearby where we fortified with lunch prior to business.

I should have it next Friday. I'll post a review and let you know where it sits on my spectrum of the unacceptable (Baby Taylor, LX) to nearly as good as a full size guitar (and nearly as big in its bag GS Mini).

Jon;

Congratulations! From what I've seen and heard you have a pretty sweet guitar coming your way.

Congratulations, you'll be surprised it will blow the baby taylor and LX to no mans land. I didnt expect it to be as loud as my OM but it is surely as full sounding. Oh my the bass.....

I just returned from my first trip with my OF660. It was a beach resort vacation in the Dominican Republic. We had a beautiful room with a balcony. Muggy humidity and 88 degrees, I played out on the balcony. Then it was too hot, so I went into the room, with much lower humidity and temperature. Didn't have to think twice.

I also discovered a way to avoid breaking down the guitar when leaving the room. With the travel bag standing vertically, I inserted the assembled guitar into the case, then pulled the zippers up until they reached the protruding neck. It was very easy to then place the bag in a closet. Watch out, though for string ends snagging on clothes.

I really like this guitar a lot. Currently strung with EB aluminum bronze.
