Default Are all Martin, Taylor and Gibson guitars made in the United States?

Or, is there a certain price point where the guitars are made in the US? If this is the case, what model of each manufacturer is the starting point for US made guitars?

Thanks!

For Taylor I believe 100's & 200's are made in Mexico, everything else is made in California,(not sure about the Baby and GS-Mini models though) but stand to be corrected.

"Martin guitars are made in Nazareth PA, USA with the exception of the X Series (HPL) the Backpacker Series, Road Series, and the SO and S1 Uke which are made in our plant in Mexico."

Taylor Baby, Big Baby, and GS Mini are also made at the Mexico plant.

Taylors:

300-series and everything above are made in California. This includes 3xx, 4xx, 5xx, 6xx, 7xx, 8xx, 9xx, PS and BTO

Everything below 300 is made in Mexico. That includes Baby, Big Baby, GS Mini, 1xx and 2xx

An easy way to remember too, is that all solid-wood Taylors are USA made and any with any laminated wood is MIM.

Gotcha.

I am new to this thing called the world of guitars and I do appreciate your patience. May I ask the price range that the US made guitars begin at?

Isn't necessarily a price range, but a model range, at least for Taylor and Martin. Not really familiar with Gibson.

For martin, used to be around $700 with the -1 series, seems to be closer to $1000 now with the -15 series.

I don't think Gibson makes anything in Canada any longer. They terminated their deal with Garrison guitars a couple of years ago. I think all their acoustics are made in Boseman Montana now…

Thank you for that information.

Around $1000 - 1200 street price for Martin (15 and One series) and Taylor (300 series). Around $1300 - 1400 street price for Gibson (J15). Prices are dependent on the dealer, check with some of the dealers that advertise here. Most of them can get you deals well below MSRP.

That was my impression as well.

Apparently, it's a surprisingly small operation as well, according to a couple dealers I know who've toured the shop.

If you watch your local CL ads you will occasionally see a Taylor 200 series made in 2006 or before. Not only were these earlier ones made in the U.S., but they were all solid wood - pretty equivalent to today's 300 series. Most of the sellers know this and ask a premium, but you may get lucky.
