As should you. You have been around long enough.

What jseth said is exactly right. Sometimes i play classical music on my steel string and the numerous barre chords are quite tough. When i started using the bottom half of my index finger more, i was surprised at how much easier it is to fret cleanly. What im basically saying is to try and lift the index closer to the ceiling: try to use the bottom half of your index more than the top half.

Here are three one minute videos I made to help students and friends... Perhaps they will help…they are not gospel, just the process I teach for learning barres… Where is the Pressure? - CLiCK Barre From Above and Behind - CLiCK Barre from Front - CLiCK |

Technique and practice...and...as my friend, the physical therapist said, good old-fashioned strength training and stretching will hasten the success factor. So, 5 lb weight curls, here I come!

Interesting....I picked up an old Alvarez jumbo that has been neglected for a while...much, much easier to play Barres on...same type of strings...obviously a different neck profile. Perhaps a setup may be in order....oops..almost forgot...issues with Barre chords on a Taylor 414ce.
