Default I Finally Took the Plunge . . .

After years and years (and years) of resisting, I finally took the plunge and am making a serious effort to learn to play with a thumb pick.

I've been working on Tommy's version of "Freight Train" 24x7 for about a week and am starting to see a tiny little bit of progress. Of cource I am driving my wife crazy in the process.

I have a few Dunlops sitting here for years waiting..... and waiting.... I like yours better though because it seems to have a tip much like a flat pick.

Good luck with it, let us know how you make out.

I bought a few of those and took a Dremel moto tool and reshaped it to a much more usable style. Kinda looks like a match stick hanging down now but I am incredibly accurate with it.

That's what the Fred Kelley "Speed Pick" looks like.

I played for awhile with a thumb and finger picks but had trouble playing with a thumb pick and bare fingers. I liked the Fred Kelly picks both the thin one and the speed picks. The material the Fred Kelly picks are made from seem to slide off the strings much smoother than any other pick I tried.
