can you afford the price of a big baby taylor to lost in the event it's not all you hoped it to be? Do you have any way to verify it's a 1914 guitar? Do you/Did you love it? Could you shrug off the sting if you found out you overpaid for what you had?

If that raises more yes' than a blue movie, why not.....

Default show us the picture of the back and sides

I'd love to see the back and sides. Any major issues?

If you're talking $300 or so, as long as there's nothing really wrong with it, sounds like a slamdunk to me. I'd buy it. Even if you have to do a neck reset, that still sounds like a value.

Now that I can see a pic of it, yep, at the price suggested I'd take a punt....

the worst case scenario would be you dont like it and flip it on the agf. if it is a true vintage item, you would have no trouble making your money back. the only loss the is the time spent. heck i would even buy it off you for the price paid.

Sounds like a good deal to me, but don't expect to flip it for a huge profit. They made a bunch of them, and they're not in high demand. But they can be a blast to play.

That one appears to be in nice shape. But make sure you check the neck angle.

Their ladder braced and very nice guitars -i own a couple of washburns of sorts - a very good value for the money guitar -- some folks treasure them . for around that price you mentioned - I would burn a hole in my pocket wipping out that wallet !

This is one of the washburns i have ( technically its a Thornward -made by Washburn for Montgon=mery ward and co -from around the same era as the guitar you pictured ) i bought this about 35 years ago from a swap sheet ad -for a hundred - mines kinda on the rough side - and the ladder bracing gives them a different sound then im use to - but most of those old washburns from that era are BR .

Default Hurry up

that is not ging to sit there to long before someone else buys it, but I do not think that it is a Lyon and Healy. I have looked through all of my books and could not find anything that was even close to that design on the fret board, I have never seen markers like that are there any numbers stamped on the back or very top of the head stock and it should also have a branding inside along the spline somewhere.
Either way I would not let it slip through my fingers.ship

Which book are you checking, Ship? Most of the Lyon and Healy brands are not very well documented (Columbia, Lakeside, American Conservatory, etc).

And that fretboard could be a replacement. The frets look larger than the original bar frets. You can also tell there's been bridge work by the slanted saddle.
