Default HELP!

One of my daughters teaches abroad and every summer when she's home for a visit she chooses a Beatles tune for us to cover together. This summer she chose HELP!

She sings vocals and I play all instruments and sing some backup. Corny and dorky but great father/daughter fun. Obviously we don't Autotune the vocal tracks...

Sounds best with headphones. Gear was Martin D-18, Martin D12-28, '67 Epi Casino, Hofner 500/v63, Gretsch Renown maple drums and a couple of tambourines.

Last summer we did Hello Goodbye. The bass line is fun. Similar gear as above plus midi piano. I also play an old viola over top of some midi sampled cellos.

Wow...excellent!

I don’t think that’s corny or dorky at all. Some of my best musical memories are of my daughter and me singing together. These are life’s most valuable treasures. I wish I could play another tune with my little girl (now 30),but she lives too far away.

Thanks for posting this treasure! You guys sound great.

Roger

Thanks kindly! My daughter's 31.

Here's my acoustic solo version of Hello Goodbye played on an old D-35.

As someone else mentioned, not at all corny. In fact, it's really cool. I love Beatles music myself and always wished I had someone else to play with.

Hi ITB,

Hey, that was fun! And very well done! Man, that's quite the production, all those instruments and all those background vocals! Good for you and good for your daughter! It's not easy to get another busy adult to invest the time and effort into a project like this, but when you do, you have a little snapshot of history that will be very valuable for your family in the future.

I have a lot of moments like this that have been recorded over time and these recordings have been wonderful to go back and listen to as time goes by.

Very cool and congratulations on a job well done! And really, one of my favorite Beatles songs, too!

- Glenn
